"A million… puns about songs later… and here I am."

The comedic timings of Aisling Bea are set to relight the story about the now-disbanded boy band. There are so many Take That movie-related music puns that we really wanted to write with this news story, but we don't want to flood you with too many because, these days, it seems like everyone has said it all.

Alright, now that that's out of the way, it's been confirmed that Kildare native Aisling Bea will join the musical, which is entitled 'Greatest Days'. Could the 'This Way Up' and 'Living With Yourself' star be about to make her singing debut? If it's anything like her 'Zombie' rendition with Sharon Horgan, we are in for a treat.

Bea tweeted the news, writing: "A million… puns about songs later… and here I am. Very excited to start shooting this [Take That] movie with me pals [Jayde Adams], [Amaka Okafor] & Alice Lowe] & a host of brilliant actors, singers and dancers relighting our fire."

She also commented: "After two years of a pandemic, I am ready to Relight My Fire and get singing and dancing in this feel-good joy fest of a movie. I have long waited for Take That to know who I am. I’ve played the long game, but I feel like I am now so close.

"My dream is for them to ask me to sing the Lulu solo on stage, so I hope they read this quote and take THAT into consideration."

Based on the stage musical 'The Band', 'Greatest Days' will follow five best friends who have the night of their lives during a concert with their favourite boy band, and fast forward twenty-five years later and they all reconnect once again.

Alice Lowe ('Black Mirror'), Amaka Okafor ('The Responder'), Jayde Adams ('Serious Black Jumper'), Lara McDonnell ('Belfast') and Marc Wootton ('Nativity') will also star. As for who will play the five Take That members, relatively unknown actors and singers have been cast; Aaron Bryan, Dalvin Cory, Joshua Jung, Mark Samaras and Mervin Noronha.

Take That said of their upcoming movie: "This is a really exciting time for us! We’re really looking forward to working with such a talented and creative team on the film and we’re absolutely delighted to have such a brilliant cast on board!"

'Greatest Days' will feature tracks from the Take That back catalogue and has a theatrical release date of 2023 attached.
