This year's Golden Globes, being hosted in a pandemic, was quite unlike any other.

The Golden Globes 2021 hosts were Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

They've hosted the ceremonies on numerous occasions previously.

But this occasion was different as the comedic pair weren't even in the same room as they co-hosted.

Fey hosted from New York while Poehler was in Beverly Hills.

The actresses made light of the fact by kicking off their monologue reaching out to one another via the camera angles.

They also made light of the fact that people have probably been re-watching 'The Office', the news and other shows rather than the actual nominees.

The room was full of first responders and essential workers rather than celebrity guests.

The hosts poked fun in their Golden Globes opening monologue at Tarantino's feet thing, the lack of diversity in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, 'The Prom' (cue shot of James Corden looking very unimpressed) and nominees such as 'Emily in Paris', 'Music' and 'Soul'.

They ended by saying "awards shows are stupid."
