Fans were left reeling after an article was published by The Daily Mail claiming the 'Harry Potter' star would no longer be pursuing her acting career.
Worry no longer Potter-heads, all those Emma Watson retiring rumours are false. According to her manager, the actor hasn't "given up acting" as previously reported by the taboid.
Sure, the actor hasn't been in many acting roles of late, but that doesn't justify publishing an article without official word. The Daily Mail claimed that Watson has "gone dormant" from acting, which "appears to be movie-speak for she's 'given up acting.'"
The article reads that the 30-year-old is focussing on settling down with her partner, Leo Robinton, with whom she's been seeing for around a year.
However, the Emma Watson retiring allegation has been debunked by Entertainment Weekly, who spoke to Watson's manager Jason Weinberg. He said: "Emma's social media accounts are dormant but her career isn't."
The last time Emma Watson was on our screens was in Greta Gerwig's 'Little Women' adaptation in 2019 with Saoirse Ronan. She currently has no projects on the near horizon, but her back catalogue of 'Harry Potter', 'Beauty and the Beast', and 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' more than make up for her wanting a bit of downtime given the current state of the world.
The actor turned activist was quite vocal on social media in 2020, especially regarding the J.K. Rowling controversy. Watson tweeted her support for the Trans community, following the author's stance on the matter.
