In less than 10 days we'll be sitting down to watch the multiversal strange-ness unfold.

A new clip has been unearthed from the upcoming 'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness' and it confirms the involvement of The Illuminati, a secret society lifted from the Marvel Comics.

Following the release of the new 30-second clip, "The Illuminati" has been trending on Twitter - no doubt confusing users who aren't familiar with The MCU or the source material it's based on (no, there's no plethora of eyes popping up on the site since Elon Musk bought it, don't worry).

The eagerly-anticipated movie, and the first of the MCU cinema releases this year, hits screens next week. It'll continue the story off the back of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', which had a knock-on effect on the entire universe, following Stephen Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) rip in reality.

Reprising her role as Scarlet Witch will be Elizabeth Olsen, who last appeared in her Disney+ series 'WandaVision'. Many fans have her tipped to become the movie's main antagonist - something we'd love to see come to fruition. Also rejoining the cast is Rachel McAdams as Christine, Benedict Wong as Sorceror Supreme Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo. Xochitl Gomez also joins the cast as new superhero America Chavez, who has the ability to create portals not too dissimilar from Strange.

The mention of The Illuminati in this new 'Doctor Strange' trailer finally confirms the rumour that we've heard all along - Professor X must be here. After the release of the first trailer, Patrick Stewart's comic book counterpart was teased to be making an appearace as a member of the secret Marvel group. By the looks of things, Strange will have to seek council from the supergroup for his actions.

Other members traditionally in the line-up of The Illuminati have been Tony Stark, Namor, Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Strange himself. It'll be interesting to see how this one turns out, Marvel fans...

In other 'Doctor Strange' news, Marvel are refusing to remove the LGBTQ+ references in the movie for countries where being gay is illegal. Advanced ticket sales in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar have been halted.
