Although Colin Farrell was rumoured for quite some time, it's now been officially confirmed by director Matt Reeves that the Irish actor will be playing Oswald Cobblepot AKA Penguin in the upcoming 'Batman' movie.
Farrell joins the likes of Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Paul Dano as Edward Nashton / The Riddler in the rogues' gallery of villains facing off against Robert Pattinson's Batman. Already, Danny DeVito - who played Penguin back in 1992's 'Batman Returns' - gave the actor his blessing and encouragement, saying "it's going to be really interesting to see his take on it."
The news was announced by director Matt Reeves, who's taken to tweeting out his castings on Twitter via a .gif and some kind of nod to their character.

As well as this, early set photos have leaked online and appear to show Farrell - or at least a stand-in - on set, sporting some bright white hair and a very familiar-looking umbrella at his side. On top of that, Robert Pattinson was also spotted on set, albeit not in full Batman costume.
