While many who were involved in 2019's box office bomb 'Cats' have come to dissociate themselves from the movie, Jennifer Hudson isn't among them.

Hudson played Grizabella the Glamour Cat in 'Cats' and her rendition of "Memory" was probably one of the more positive aspects of the movie musical.

Hudson next plays Aretha Franklin in the much anticipated biopic 'Respect'.

In an interview with Total Film (via GameRadar), the actress and singer notes upon being asked about her last feature film: "I loved that you asked about Cats!"

She continued: "You know what? I think it was a bit overwhelming.

"It’s unfortunate that it was misunderstood.

"I think later down the line, people will see it differently.

"But it is something I am still very proud of and grateful to have been a part of.

"Yeah, I got to be Grizabella the Glamour Cat!"

In fact, Hudson loved her experience on the film so much that she got two cats of her own. Their names are Grizabella and Macavity.

"They are the best thing I've ever had," she said. "I love them so much."

Stars of the musical who have slammed it include Judi Dench and Taylor Swift.

Hugh Jackman was offered a role and declined, because he knew it would be terrible. But Jason Derulo wasn't so lucky.
