We could actually go even higher and say it's fifty kinds of crazy.

It's absolutely nuts and the big thing we're taking away from it is that horses are amazing and we've never wanted to charge on a horse into the middle of a battle more. It really does speak to how detailed and fluid the game will hopefully be, as you can see the characters hoping on and off horses.

As well as all this, you've also got the sheer insanity of planes flying overhead, tanks rolling over dunes, trains in the middle of a map and what looks like the first glimpse of the single-player campaign.

Take a look.

Yes, it looks like you'll either interact with or actually play as T.E. Lawrence, the British Army officer who embedded himself with the Bedouins during the height of World War I and led a guerilla war against the Turkish forces in what we now call Saudi Arabia.

This definitely makes a marked change from other first-person shooters, which often place the story either in a far-off, fantastical future or place it in World War II. Battlefield 1 will be the first mainstream shooter to place the story in the Great War.

Battlefield 1 is slated for an October 21st release here in Ireland on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
