I first encountered Turok way back on the N64. I was not that big a fan. The graphics weren't great, the controls were backwards and the storyline bizarre; a Native American fighting dinosaurs in the future?! Well, he's had a few incarnations since then on all the major platforms, and has just arrived onto the next gen - PS3 and 360 welcome him with open arms.

The story hasn't changed much: he is still Native American, it's still the future, and by golly, there are still bucketloads of dinosaurs. The gameplay isn't bad, better then some of the shooters we have seen of late. Each weapon has both a primary and secondary function - you can wield dual weapons, and even mix and match SMG with pistols etc - but you can't carry much, and you'll find yourself constantly juggling your guns around. Enemy-wise, there is a nice mix of dino and human conflict. Also, the dinos won't discriminate between you or the bad guys - so sometimes, it pays to hang back and let them at it!

Certainly not the greatest FPS, but a good addition, and any game that has the voice talent of Ron Perlman deserves a go!
