There are an awful lot of mediocre shooters around at the moment, and sadly this is just another to throw on the pile. Turning Point sees the old adage 'Good idea, bad idea' come to the fore. Good idea: a shooter set in an alternate universe where the Nazis won World War 2. Bad idea: ignoring your own storyline and becoming stale, repetitive nonsense.

So as I said, the storyline: you're a New Yorker fending off the invading Nazis after Britain loses the war (the game ignores the more likely scenario of America not bothering to get involved), and it seems all New Yorkers know how to handle themselves in a fight, as construction workers unite to take on the Third Reich.

This game is bloody hard and not in an 'Oooh, I like a challenge, stick on a pot of coffee, this may take a while' sort of way. It's more likely that after one or two random deaths, you'll start considering redecorating the living room, or notice that the grass needs cutting!

There are countless better FPS games available - check them out first.
