The first rule of 'The Club' is that you do not mention Fight Club! The Club is an arena style third-person shooter which lays down targets to hit as you peruse the level, shooting seven shades of shampoo out of whoever stands in your way. The storyline is non-existent; you have entered a club that likes to shoot its members, so you shoot back!

I have to say it: the single player mode blows. But they were so close - you can see how this could have been a classic, but the levels are just far too short. As soon as you get into your stride, you suddenly reach the end. They try to keep the pace up by encouraging combo kills and trick shots for bonuses, but all that does is put a combo clock constantly ticking in your ear.

I haven't yet played it online, but it is obvious from what I have seen that multiplayer is where this kitten will purr. With a little luck, this could be this generation's 'Unreal Tournament', and garner that elusive title: cult classic.

Not into multiplayer, then this is not for you.
