SBK 2011 is the official motorbike racing game which includes the circuits, riders and bikes from the current World Superbike 2011 Championship. Although the game is is fundamentally unchanged from its predecessor, SBK: X Superbike World Championship, there's a wealth of old and new content here to satisfy racing fans. The standout feature is the new Legends class mode. This lets players choose from 17 famous riders such as Carl Fogarty or Troy Bayliss as well as famous bikes from the last decade. These can be raced in a variety of championships and events.
Newcomers will find the handling of the bikes and the learning curve a little unforgiving but then bike racing games are considered a niche genre. The game doesn't look cutting edge compared to the recent Forza and GTA games and the background to the tracks is a little bland. However, the presentation is a more streamlined and user friendly than in previous titles and there's a meaty roar off the bikes. The game also supports a 16 player online mode revolving around experience points and a levelling up system.
