Ratchet & Clank have been two of Sony's most memorable characters over the years, from the early days of the PS2, up to this, the latest installment of the lovable platforming franchise, A Crack in Time.

The game, like it's predecessors, expertly mixes platforming, with witty, intelligent puzzle-solving and all out action, with the player urged to put more focus on the latter, with some of the weapons on offer ranging from a rocket launcher ingeniously named 'The Negotiator' to the bizarre but equally ingenious 'Sonic Erupter'. To describe it would be to spoil it, but let's just say Insomniac games should be give two thumbs up for incorporating a mating call into a destructive weapon.

R & C, like those before it, is an incredibly polished game. Levels are unlike most you'd see in any other game, and almost everything you see can be lusciously blown up in next-gen detail. And with an endless amount of unlockables and level-ups, there's all the more reason to return to the R&C worlds.

Younger gamers will love this, but then again, so will the older ones. The perfect Christmas experience.
