Professor Layton is a charming game that combines a murder mystery plot with classic puzzle-solving.
So, the Professor has been asked to come to a mysterious village to help search for a lost treasure hidden somewhere in the town. However, not long after he arrives it becomes apparent that foul play is afoot, and the race is on to uncover the dark secret behind the town.
At its heart, Professor Layton and the Curious Village is puzzles dressed up (and not particularly well, at that) - but there is something quite lovely about it. If you enjoy brainteasers, then this is for you. Puzzles range from spatial problems and mathematical riddles to the schoolyard classic, 'Get your chickens across the lake!' Well, it was a classic at my school.
Not available in the shops but easy to track down on the 'net, this is a refreshing title for the DS as it doesn't pretend that it's educating you - it's just good old fashioned fun!
