This month sees the release of Injustice: Gods Among Us, and for the comic book fans among us, this has got to be a god-send. But for those who may not be as well versed in why this is an exciting event, let's delve in a little deeper.
What's The Story?
Well, we hope you've got your dose of Vitamin D today, because it's about to get DARK up in here. The Joker has only gone and killed Lois Lane, her baby, and Clark Kent's best mate Jimmy Olson. In a fit of mental anguish, Superman has called a time-out in the world of superheroes and villains, declaring it every super powered man and woman for themselves. But Batman is against this, and sets up a rival faction of goodies and baddies to ward off Superman's descent into anarchy.
Who Can We Play?
There seems to be two types of characters to play as; either the superpowered (eg Superman) or the gadget-powered (eg Batman). The following is all that's been announced so far, but expect more to be revealed closer to the date of arrival, as well as many more to be unlocked once you beat the game, and more again via downloads. But as of today, the list consists of - deep breath - Aquaman, Ares, Bane, Batman, Black Adam, Catwoman, Cyborg, Deathstroke, Doomsday, The Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn, Hawk Girl, The Joker, Killer Frost, Lex Luthor, Night Wing, Raven, Shazam, Sinestro, Solomon Grundy, Superman and Wonder Woman. Phew!
What Can We Play?
This is a Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat type beat 'em up, but with all these characters you love and hate. Against the backdrops of the likes of Arkham Asylum, Metropolis and Atlantis to name but a few, your superhero/villain must beat every shade of supers**t out of the other superhero/villain. It's as simple as that, which is why it's probably going to be so much fun!
