The Assassin's Creed series has always been one of the more original concepts and coolest set-ups in modern video games, sure just look at who wants to play the lead character in the movie adaptations: Michael "Cooler Than Humanly Possible" Fassbender! Whereas the previous games in the series had you free-running and assassinating through The Crusades, The Renaissance and The American Revolution, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag puts right in the middle of the Golden Age of Piracy!
Using the most fun parts of Assassin's Creed III as it's jumping off point - remember the shoot outs at sea from your massive ships? - Black Flag places you in Cuba and the surrounding Caribbean islands and wants you to get your pirate on. But this is no swaggering, Jack Sparrow rum 'n' women lunacy, as you are still a member of an elite group of assassins, and you must use your cunning and physical prowess to tear through these beautiful open sandboxes to achieve your goals.
Just looking at the amount of detail that has gone into each potential mission, the number of ways each of your targets to reached and/or taken out, and the absolutely beautiful imagery that the game's makers have put into, we can't wait to get our hands on this one!
Assassin's Creed IV will be available on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U from November 1st, with its arrival date on Playstation 4 and Xbox One still to be announced.
