PlayStation has launched a new six-part series that brings together Irish personalities with one thing in common - their love of video games.

Hosted by gamer and comedian Tony Cantwell, 'Players Unlocked' sees Tony talk to a plethora of guests from very different backgrounds to discuss their love of gaming.

Musicians, illustrators, streamers and TV stars are on hand to discuss the role

In each episode, guests discuss what role gaming and PlayStation, has played in their life, ranging from the moment they got their hands on their first PlayStation, to the recent launch of the PS5, these gamers press play on a whole host of personal stories.

The first and second episodes, featuring lifelong gamer and TV star Baz Ashmawy and streamer Úna-Minh Kavanagh, are now available to watch on Facebook, (Instagram) and Twitter.

In the first episode, TV personality Baz Ashmawy says his earliest gaming memories involve playing 'Shinobi' and 'Double Dragon' in a local arcade, and that the original 'Tekken' on the PlayStation 1 "blew his mind".

"That was where I went we don't need arcades anymore! It's over!"

Baz discussed Sackboy from 'LittleBigPlanet' adding "as someone called Basil the chances of you succeeding in life aren't that great, but he nailed it!"

Streamer Úna-Minh Kavanagh is among the guests on the show

In the latest episode, streamer Úna-Minh Kavanagh says he owns every iteration of the PlayStation, from the original PlayStation 1 all the way up to the new PlayStation 5.

Úna-Minh said the load times on the new console were a highlight, as well as the 3D audio available in the likes of 'Ghost of Tsushima', calling it "one of the most phenomenal things I've ever experienced in my life".

Úna-Minh gave some tips for aspiring streamers, saying "even if no one is watching, you have to keep on talking."

There will be 6 episodes total in the series, with the remaining episodes to be released over the coming weeks.
