Assassin's Creed developers Ubisoft announced today that the latest entry in their hit franchise will be released a little bit earlier than expected, at least on the PS3 and XBox360 platforms. The current generation of consoles will get to play Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag from October 29th, whereas anyone wanting to play it on PC or Wii-U, as well as those holding out for the PlayStation 4 and XBox One version will have to wait until November 22nd.

To go with this announcement, they've released the story trailer for the new game, and it looks suitably epic:

Taking on the role of Edward Kenway, a pirate turned undercover assassin, the game looks like it's got some influences from the Pirates Of The Caribbean series (without all of that supernatural hooplah, it's all about the booty here!), and we can't wait to run around the Caribbean cities causing all kinds of havoc!
