My God, if you had told me when I was a wee lad that Mario of Nintendo, and his mortal enemy Sonic of Sega would one day walk hand-in-hand, I would never have believed you. Not since the fall of the Iron Curtain have we seen such emotional scenes, as NES and MegaDrive owners can finally stand as brothers!! Okay, maybe it's not quite that dramatic.

Firstly, and I cannot stress this enough, this only works multiplayer. I mean, you can play on your own if you want to, but trust me - you look like enough of a spanner playing with mates. Playing this own your own though, you will just look, well, sad.

This works nicely as a party game. It is competitive and easy to pick up, but be warned: if you take it too seriously, your muscles will ache from the strain. Events include all the Olympic greats: track & field, aquatic, fencing and of course table tennis and trampoline.

Graphics are lovely, and as a whole the game works. Some events outshine others, but my favourite was definitely the 100m sprint. My arms are still sore!
