One of the most original games seen in recent years, 2008's Little Big Planet jumped onto the scene and quickly captured the imagination with its fun, quirky atmosphere, novel approach and a range customisation the likes of which has never been seen.

In Little Big Planet 2 (or LBP2) all what was great about its predecessor is still here, but what makers Media Molecule have also done is take what was so great about LBP and done what all great sequels do: make it better on almost every level. For the uninitiated, the aim of Little Big Planet is not just to play through the story mode – a stereotypical platformer – but also for the user to create levels themselves and share them with the world. Because of this, it's a title that's constantly updated. The option to create your own games is even available, which, although tough to master, becomes incredibly satisfying once learned. There are literally no limits as to what one can create. Then simply upload to the web, and share with the world.

Games like LBP2 are the future. Its focus is on us, the gamers. They're giving us the tools of the next gen, a blank canvas, and daring us to do our worst. And for this you'll be eternally grateful.
