Oh God! It's another Film to Game cross over… What's this? It's not a game of the movie just a well timed tie in? Okay, better, but still an obvious cash in.
Finally, some one has got it right. This is a great game, following more closely to the recent Hellboy animated films (check them out if you are a fan, you won't be disappointed). We follow as Hellboy is chasing down a witch in Eastern Europe. The adventure traverses the globe, flashing back to some of Hellboy's encounters from the 40s, through to the 80s and on to the present day.
While the graphics are cutting edge and the game play fluid, there is something quite retro about the game; an almost Castlevania feel to it.
Controls are bang on and combos can be created using Hellboy's killer right hook and his signature pistol, Samaritan.
All in all an enjoyable adventure game that should keep both fans and keen gamers happy.
