It took just 20 short years, but there is finally a Forrest Gump video game.

Video game tie-ins are great for blockbuster action movies, as fans of the franchises will spend their dosh on seeing the flick and playing the game. A lot of the time, they can be rushed affairs and not very good, but for Forrest Gump, Oscar-winning drama, they decided to take their time. We mean really take their time. 20 years worth of it.

But, at long last, the game has finally arrived, so long as you live in New Zealand, which is the only place it's available at the minute. Unsurprisingly, it's entirely based around running, and at the start of the game, when Jenny gives you that famous line, you run and run, avoiding obstacles and collecting coins along the way. Here's a bit of gameplay that should give you an idea of what it's going to be like.

The game is officially licensed by Paramount, so it's legit on that front, but we have no word yet as to when it will arrive over this side of the world.
