Ah! Another year, another FIFA game

Game play is as before, very good and the graphics have continued their upward journey, the player animations have not drastically improved but the cut scenes have been given a definite boost.  One niggling gripe would be with the sound, the quality is fine, it's just they re-use the same quotes as from the previous few games and it's hard enough to listen to Andy Grey at the best of times but with a continually stream of repeated clichés, the commentators grate on your nerves after a short while.

So what's new this year, well EA are not known for their overnight innovations (they're a bit like Porsche that way) but slowly, steadily and consistently they build their games from the ground up. This year though, we see a dramatic leap forward in the online mode, now the Fifa Live Lounge gets information on players from the interwebulater and updates the player's stats on your squad, meaning the real life performance of your squad can have an influence on how your team performs when you play.

This extra level of detail is going to make this the ultimate fantasy football tool.
