Condemned 2: Bloodshot follows the story of Ethan, a disgraced investigator who, having spent a year living in the gutter, is forced back to work by a series of gruesome murders in a city being ravaged by street riots.

Gameplay consists of using whatever is at hand to beat the snot out of anyone you encounter. Weapons range from 2x4s and lead pipes to shotguns and submachine guns (although ammo is more than scarce.) This is a gory, graphic game and highly unsuitable for the young 'uns. At first I wasn't taken with it and found it all a little much - but the fantastic graphics and excellent storytelling lead me deeper into the game. My only beef is with the controls: most of the time, combat is hand-to-hand and can be very difficult, but you do get the hang of it.

What this game does well is atmospherel; playing in broad daylight with a mate in the room, I still got the willies! If you feel you are up for a few sleepless nights I would check this superb chiller out!

I missed the first Condemned when it came out a few years back, but I will most definitely be going back for it.
