On February 22nd in The Grand Social we bring together a really special line up of incredible artists for one night in order to raise vital funds for Dublin Rape Crisis Centre and raise awareness around consent. Rape crisis centres around the country are struggling to deal with waiting lists, with Dublin Rape Crisis Centre alone having a current waiting list of 175 adult and adolescent victims. Deciding to take immediate action to fundraise for Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, artist / activist / teacher Emmalene Blake, Today FM radio producer & festival DJ Kate Brennan Harding, and Repeal Activist Anna Cosgrave have teamed up to create Consentfest. Consentfest aims to ensure that the issue of consent remains at the forefront of political and social discussion and to broaden the conversation around consent and the impact within communities. The event will be MC’d by Sarah Devereux aka The Dirtbird and the fantastic lineup includes poetry by Emmet Kirwan, Vickey Curtis, Una Mullally, Ailish Kerr and Lewis Kenny, live music by Roe, State Lights, Molly Sterling and Ailbhe Reddy, DJ sets by Kate Brennan Harding, Claire Beck, Michael Pope (Le Galaxie), Aine Molloy (GirlCrew) and Stephen White (The Last Mixed Tape) and live street art in the beer garden by Holly Periera and ESTR.
