Visit a unique collection in the Copper House Gallery, filled floor to ceiling with paintings, prints, statues and T shirts - all modern and traditional images of the Virgin Mary. Started in 2010 when Shane MacGowan gave Rosita, the curator, a picture he’d drawn on a floor tile of the Virgin Mary – Shane the hell-raiser was channelling Mary - the collection grew from there. The collection is NOT religious. This is a reclamation of Mary as a feminist goddess – goddess of women, of motherhood and unconditional love.
