Extra Ordinary tells the story of a young journalist who travels to an asylum in Mississippi, in the late 1970’s, to understand the lives of its patients and how they’re “treated”. Extra Ordinary is an energetic and honest portrayal of the human condition and its complexities. It portrays its fair share of the comedic, dramatic and thought provoking elements of any human being. The show also playfully pays homage to various styles of theatre and film such as musicals, pulp and expressionism.
