Kaleidoscope features a very special international guest artist for its April chapter- the South African violist and overtone singer, Gareth Lubbe. Born in Johannesburg, Lubbe was formerly the principal violist with the Gewandhaus Orchestra of Leipzig and has appeared as soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, America, Africa and Asia, performing and recording with conductors such as Claudio Abbado and Daniel Harding. Gareth is also an acclaimed overtone singer, performing and giving active lectures around the world and he will showcase these talents in two special works in this programme, one written for him, the other written by him! He is joined by Kaleidoscope favourites, the Esposito Quartet, to perform Mozart's much-loved String Quartet in G minor and the event is completed by another Kaleidoscope favourite, singer Sue Rynhart with Welsh pianist Huw Warren.
