Celebrating its 8th successive year, the West Waterford Festival of Food returns from Thursday the 9th to Sunday the 12th of April, making the sunny South East that little bit brighter with fabulous food and wine, a host of engaging events, pop-up restaurants and much more, with fun for all the family!

The theme of this year’s festival is "Generations in Irish Food", and the coastal town of Dungarvan and the surrounding countryside will once again welcome some of Ireland’s finest chefs, producers, stall-holders and all round lovers of fine food.

One of the key events of the programme will be hosted in Dromana House, as "Celebrating Generations of West Waterford Food Stories" gives you not only the chance to learn about the history of some of Waterford most famous food families, but let’s you sample their dishes too.

Some of the key highlights include Darina Allen and her brother, Rory O’Connell, of Ballymaloe Cookery School being joined in by John McKenna for an intimate insight into the food story of Ireland, and The Emerging Generation, a series of demonstrations from up and coming members of established food families, including Jack and Tim McCarthy, Richard and Duncan Blair, and father son combination, Frank and Rob Krawczyk.

The Tannery will again be the cornerstone of the festival, as they host tasting menus on Friday and Saturday called Generations of Food Producers, evenings of celebration and fine food based on the family producers participating in the festival. On Sunday they host a duck feast for lunch, as well as running The Tannery Cooking School throughout the festival.

Returning once again this year will be Seafood Saturday - Cois Cé, as well as the massively popular Farmer’s Market on Sunday 12th, and that’s only scratching the surface of the festival’s events.
