Waterford New Music Week is an annual festival presented by the Department of Performing & Creative Arts, School of Humanities, Waterford Institute of Technology and Garter Lane Arts Centre, celebrating and promoting contemporary music in formal and informal settings throughout Waterford city, funded by the Arts Council and Waterford City Council. With contemporary music performances of an international standard, performance and professional development opportunities for emerging and established musicians and composers and a programme of participation for active young people and active ageing groups, all daytime events are free and a variety of city venues are used, including the Central Library, WIT campuses and Garter Lane Arts Centre.
