As the oldest City in Ireland, the first City in Ireland to declare St Patrick's Day a national holiday and the home of the Irish Tricolour, Waterford City is the place to celebrate our national holiday. The Waterford City St. Patrick's Day parade is the largest in the South East attracting over 50,000 viewers annually.

The parade will be led by a surprise Grand Marshall with Waterford connections and the weekend long festival will continue the national celebrations as part of The Gathering. Waterford Spraoi will be in attendance showcasing their spectacular creativity with a specially commissioned entry. Local community, arts and sports groups will also be showing their colours on the day with colourful and musical entries.

As well as being treated to a colourful parade, there will be free tricolours for all and face painting for the young at heart. There will be plenty of entertainment before and after the parade with live music in John Roberts Square following the parade and the delicious and interesting City Market.
