Following the tragic loss of Kildare native, Aisling Earley, in an accident on the island of Koh Lanta, Thailand last year, her best friend since childhood Sharon Gray has organised a virtual dance music festival in her memory titled 'Ash Fest'.

'Ash Fest' will take place on YouTube Premiere from 6pm Irish time this coming Saturday, May 22nd, with some of Ireland's top DJ’s and some of Aisling's and Sharon’s DJ friends who will pay tribute to the dance music-loving 34-year-old on the first anniversary of her death.

Speaking from Sydney, Australia where she is now based, Sharon had the following to say about the upcoming free event:

"Aisling loved music, it was in her bones, it was her therapy. We all had so many great times with Aisling at festivals and nights out so this seemed like the perfect way to celebrate her life.

"She has so many friends at home and scattered around the world, so this is a way for us all to come together and remember her and celebrate her life."

She continued: "This year has been extremely tough for everyone and there are so many other people out there who have had hard times and lost loved ones recently and couldn’t give them the send off they deserved due to the pandemic.

"This event is dedicated not just to Aisling but to anyone who wants to remember someone special, and everyone is welcome to join in on YouTube on Saturday."

A mix of Irish and Australian DJ’s known to Aisling will play Saturday’s Ash Fest event on YouTube Premiere, spinning everything from Funk, Disco, House, Drum and Bass and Aisling’s favourite, Techno.

Those who want to join in can tune in for free on Saturday night via this link.
