DFA HEAVYWEIGHTS PAT MAHONEY AND NANCY WHANG plus NEW JACKSON and FORRESTS added to Valentia Isle Festival.
Valentia Isle Festival has announced the latest acts to join the bill for the three-day festival in September on the magical island. LCD Soundsystem lynchpins PAT MAHONEY and NANCY WHANG deliver a DFA double DJ set. Pat Mahoney is best known as the iconic band’s drummer, but he’s also a record selector of some repute, DJing with partner in wax James Murphy as Special Disco Version. He’s just launched his new project on the New York label, called Museum Of Love. Singer Nancy Whang has collaborated with LCD, The Juan MacLean and Shit Robot, and as anyone who attended her set at Dublin’s Mother club earlier this year will know, packs a serious bag of party records.
Also appearing on the bill is NEW JACKSON, the shadowy house soldier whose ‘Sat Around Here Waiting’ on John Talabot’s Hivern label is one of 2013’s more interesting releases. New Jackson plays live at Valentia Isle, as do Irish electronic duo FORRESTS, who recently released their debut ‘Wilder’ EP on the blast first petite label.
They join an already impressive line-up which included David Holmes (DJ set); Jape; Bronagh Gallagher; Heathers; David Kitt; Donal Dineen; RSAG; Daithi; Young Wonder, The Mighty Stef; Together Disco and more for what will be a mighty weekend off the Kerry coast.
