Every year on April 22, over a billion people in 190 countries take action for Earth Day. From San Francisco to San Juan, Beijing to Brussels, Moscow to Marrakesh, people plant trees, clean up their communities, contact their elected officials, and more—all on behalf of the environment.

UCD Earth Institute present a special screening of the award winning film TRASHED narrated by Jeremy Irons on Tuesday 22nd April with a post screening discussion featuring special guests and academics.

We buy it, we bury it, we burn it and then we ignore it. Does anyone think about what happens to all the trash we produce? In the latest Blenheim Films production Jeremy Irons sets out to discover the extent and effects of the global waste problem, as he travels around the world to beautiful destinations tainted by pollution. The beauty of our planet from space forms a violent contrast to the scenes of human detritus across the globe.
