In 2008, 24 climbers converged on High Camp of K2, the last stop before the summit of the most dangerous mountain on Earth. 48 Hours later, 11 had been killed or simply vanished into thin air. Ger McDonnell was a larger than life explorer who fulfilled a long held dream to reach the summit of K2 but tragically died in descent. When it comes to mountain climbing, there is an unwritten rule that if someone is injured, you leave them there to die as helping them will most likely result in your own death, too. But McDonnell had a history of disobeying this rule, and when disaster struck near the peak of K2, the film-makers focus on him and his attempts to save as many fellow climbers as he could.

There will be a QandA after the screening.
