For Jack Kerouac , the heart of the haiku was ‘the objective beautiful sad ungraspable world as it is’. Sioc maidine/ Morning Frost presents a generous selection of Kerouac’s haiku, translated by Ireland’s doyen of the haiku, Gabriel Rosenstock. Like Kerouac, Rosenstock makes the haiku sing.
