A major exhibition, Propositions by acclaimed Brazilian artist Hélio Oiticica is coming to Dublin and IMMA are celebrating with Summer Rising, a ten day festival of art, music, food and performance which kicks off this Friday, July 18th and runs until July 26th.

Taking place in IMMA's beautiful gardens and the historic north Wing, highlights include a very special edition of THISISPOPBABY's performance, art and club extravaganza Werk; Gracelands annual screening, a sculpture and performance event curated by Vaari Claffey; and artist and chef curated food events presented by Michelle Darmody and Fiona Hallinan including the unique IMMA Banquet in IMMA's Chapel where guests will be treated to an exclusive tour of the Hélio Oiticica exhibition.

The festival is all inclusive - there are family workshops with artists, chefs and the Up & Over It alternative Irish dance group. Happenings pop-up outdoor cinema will set up camp on Thursday, July 24th with a screening of the brilliant Labyrinth.

Of course there will also be wonderful live music in the gardens from The BQ Trio, The Line Up, Seán MacErlaine and Roland Gomez, and there couldn't not be fascinating gallery and garden talks.

The grand finale is IMMA’s Summer Party - which will also be a celebration of Oiticica's birthday - featuring music from Gang Colours and Somerville and DJ sets from Donal Dineen, David Kitt, 11.11 and Emmet Condon.
