Welcome to the Irish Film Institute IFI Family Festival 2014, running from July 17th to July 20th.

The IFI will be screening some wonderful, specially chosen films from around the world, including: animation; live action; and Irish premieres which touch on music, friendship, family and sport. In addition to the schedule of family films, there will be some special events and workshops taking place throughout the weekend.

Kids can learn the history of cinema, VJ skills and explore our current Bechdel Test season (focusing on women in cinema) in our workshops. On the opening day of the festival we will have a magician in the foyer demonstrating and teaching tricks to the kids, before the screening of the Irish premiere of The House of Magic, a Belgian animation, now re-made in English. There will also be a petting zoo in Meeting House Square on Sunday July 20th to celebrate the screening of Shaun the Sheep.

This will be a fun-packed few days for children with lots of creative and innovative activities for them to partake in. For more information about what's on and for booking please see the IFI Family Festival website.
