Disney now appears to have a second job moonlighting in theatre, with the success of several of their plays causing a stir on the West End and indeed in the Mecca of musical stage excellence that is Broadway. Beauty and the Beast was one of the last of the traditionally animated features to come from the Mouse House, and the stage production has lost little of its charm in transition. Scaled down slightly to fit the snug stage at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, it will provide equal amounts laughter and singalong toe-tapping fun, as the extremely capable cast offer hugely endearing turns. The night Entertainment.ie attended an adoring standing ovation was offered at the climax from a hugely enthusiastic crowd. Something tells us it won’t be the last one this stellar production will receive. Tickets are priced between €27.00 - €36.50 and are available from ticketmaster. The show runs until the end of August, and is well worth a visit.
