The Cavalcaders explores the lives and loves of a community of characters in small-town Ireland. Set in an old-fashioned cobbler's shop, this is the story of a group of four shoe-makers who spend their days mending shoes and their nights transformed into a barbershop quartet that prides itself on harmony, comic patter and romantic sentiment. Their musical harmonies, however, are not reflected in their private lives. The Cavalcaders is a wonderful memory play that explores the complexity of human relationships. With live music and a beautiful musical score, the play is both moving and entertaining as Billy Roche examines how men relate to men and to women.

'… an exquisite gem of a play.' The Irish Times
