The Liberties Festival has grown from humble beginnings to become a highlight of the summer in Dublin. With a series of family-friendly, sporting and community events, and an exciting multi-cultural and arts programme encompassing visual art, film, dance, comedy, literature and music, there's something for everyone!

There are so many highlights it's impossible to list them all, but for a taster there's; Nighthawks at the Guinness Storehouse on Saturday 19; Opera for a Summer Evening, presented by Opera In The Open for the Festival in the beautiful St John’s Lane Church on Thursday 17; the premiere and only Irish screening of the multi-award winning, critically acclaimed documentary film Bridegroom – winner of Best Documentary at 2013 Tribeca Film Festival; and The Liberties Inked, a series of over 40 stunning photographs by photographer Ger O’Donnell at NCAD.

More highlights include; Daily Drama Camp with Grace Dyas and Shane Byrne of THEATREclub; Sean O’Connor reads from his memoir, Growing Up So High: A Liberties Boyhood; historian Pat Liddy leads a fascinating Walk and Talk guided tour exploring Viking Dublin and its foundations; play Patrick Kavanagh – A Life performed by PJ Brady; workshops including maSamba drumming, Liberties in Bloom, fencing in St Patrick’s Park, yoga for adults and children with YogaHub, photography, art and more for all ages.

And of course community favourites return, such as; the Blue Rinse Ball; Children’s Talent Show; The Real Big Quiz; and the annual football match between The Traders –v- Kevin Street Garda Station,
