The 2017 festival season is long over and the 2018 festival season is more than six months away. But there is good news if you're looking for a fix of live music this weekend. The Sligo Live Festival, the last big festival of the year, kicks off tomorrow on the west coast.

There's events and live music taking place all over Sligo town but the big headlining gigs are taking place in IT Sligo's Knocknarea Arena. Imelda May plays Friday night, Gilbert O'Sullivan on Saturday and to close things out on Sunday there's a very special double bill with Damien Dempsey and Stockton's Wing sharing the bill.

Also appearing throughout the weekend are Old Hannah and the Sharon Shannon band who will both be playing in the Hawk's Well Theatre. After the gigs have wrapped up you can continue your night at the festival club located in the newly opened Anderson's Bar and Grill.
