The Spirit of Folk FEASTIVAL is an all day and all night event taking place on the beautiful grounds of Dunderry Park, Co. Meath on the 21st of September. The day and night will feature the Spirit of Folk Awards final on a beautifully crafted stage in the woods, a delicious folky themed three course feast as well as storytelling, archery, living history, all night fires, the Hall of Heroes games area, midnight strolls, astronomy, shamanic drumming, as well as many activities to nourish the heart and soul. The celebrations will go long into the night and culminate in the burning of a specially crafted wooden phoenix!

About the SPIRIT OF FOLK AWARDs and FEASTIVAL

Spirit of Folk had its humble beginnings in 2011. It was the seedling of a small team of music enthusiasts, event managers and artists. We set out not just to provide a platform for Irish folk music, but also to educate, rejuvenate and nourish those who came through the gates. Spirit of Folk grew from a small 500 person event in year one, to over 1,200 in 2012. It attracted international acts, community funding and amazing partnerships.

The Spirit of Folk Awards and Feastival Final

Following on from previous success, we want to shake things up a little bit. We think it’s not enough to confine the folk to our little hamlet in Co. Meath, and believe that there are increasingly creative and fun ways to fulfill our mandate of promoting and supporting Irish folk music and arts.

The idea for the 2013 Spirit of Folk awards was born out of this mandate.

Qualifying Rounds will be held in Whelans upstairs and VIP parlour bar on the 31st of August and will be an all day event with everything you could expect from a Spirit of Folk event including storytelling, delicious food and brilliant bands.

The Final will be held at Dunderry Park on the 21st of September and will be an all night event with doors opening at 3pm and activities happening long into the night.
