Edouard Bergeon became a filmmaker, but his father Christian followed the family tradition and became a farmer in western France. Hit by disasters and depression, Christian committed suicide in 1999, a choice that hundreds of French farmers make every year. In Sons of the Land Edouard goes back to his roots, spending over a year filming French livestock farmer Sébastien Itard and his family. Squeezed by high interest rates and low milk prices, Sébastien must also contend with his overbearing father. Sons of the Land is a grippingly composed and highly personal film about the harsh struggles of the European farming community.

There will be a QandA after the screening.
