Throughout October Powerscourt Open and Opera Ireland presents 'shOPERA' at the award winning 18th century Powerscourt Townhouse Centre every Thursday at 6.00pm starting 9th October. Bringing together two of life's greatest pleasures, shopping and opera, each week singers from the Opera Ireland cast will treat shoppers to a repertoire of beautiful arias from some of the world's favourite operas. The all star operatic line-up includes former recipient of the much coveted Margaret Burke-Sheridan Award, Sandra Oman, singing with John Molloy. Watch out later in the month for the bright, young and beautiful Claudia Boyle who made her stunning debut performance with Opera Ireland in the role of Barbarina in Mozart's 'Le Nozze di Figaro' earlier this year, she will be performing with Brendan Collins whose extensive career highlights to date include Mozart Requiem, Mozart Vespers and Beethoven 9th Symphony. Concerts begin at 6.00pm and finish at 6.30pm sharp so be sure you get there early to set a seat and enjoy a beverage that takes your fancy - be it coffee, a glass of wine or perhaps a cocktail. To celebrate our month of opera La Corte restaurant have a special three course menu with a glass of wine for €20 or get a free glass of wine with every main course ordered.
