The Seosamh MacGabhann Summer School provides a week of classes with some of the best tutors in traditional Irish music, song, sean nós dancing and Gaeilge. It takes place in the relaxed village setting of Kilmovee, with excellent facilities in the local Community Centre and Family Resource Centre. The hospitality of the people of Kilmovee is central to this Summer School.

The week offers a unique option of morning classes in your favourite instrument and then a choice of afternoon classes in traditional Irish & English singing, sean nós dancing, Comhrá Gaeilge or a 2nd instrument. Excellent value for money is offered and a discount for anyone doing morning and afternoon classes. Another feature of this Summer School is the nightly sessions, which start with a slow session, where pupils can practice their tunes from the day, this leads into a full session with tutors attending each night.

The Summer School starts with a heritage tour, visiting sites as described in a book written by Seosamh MacGabhann just before his sudden death in 2008. Other key highlights include the Irish Mass and the Official Opening which will be performed by Seán Smyth of Lunasa, nephew of Seosamh MacGabhann. A highlight of the week is the closing concert where tutors and pupils perform to a packed hall and this will be followed by the closing event, a Céilí featuring the Swallows Tail. Bígí Linn!
