For children aged 2- 12 years
Wand and Quill Making: Children will learn about different trees and birds as they design and customise their very own magic wands and writing quills.
The children will be taken on a walk around the garden to see the different trees to learn their names and choose the wand type they would like. They will also see the farm animals and learn about different types of birds.
A spooky Hallowe’en and Harvest festival in the beautiful grounds of Shankill Castle, Paulstown, County Kilkenny. The Castle dates from Norman times and features stunning landscaped grounds and extensive woodlands. Distinctive features include a magical moated garden, a fully-restored ornamental canal, spectacular specimen trees and a working Victorian walled garden. Most spooky of all, are the ruins of an early Christian Church and graveyard which gave the castle its name.
Wear strong shoes or wellington boots and bring rain coats.
For children staying for more than one workshop take a packed lunch or snack.
