Savour Kilkenny Food Festival is back this October Bank Holiday (October 24th – 28th) and it promises to be their tastiest food festival yet!

The festival now in it's seventh year has been cooking up a storm to prepare for the upcoming festival.Centred in the heart of Kilkenny's medieval buildings and in the beautiful surroundings of Kilkenny Castle, there will be plenty of activities to keep all you foodies entertained, including cookery demonstrations, open-air food market, street theatre, wine tastings and the well-established Foodcamp. This year will also see the first ever Savour Soapbox take place.

There is plenty on offer over the weekend including three very special pop up dining events Butler House will be transformed into a veggie haven on Saturday 26th October with Chef Helen Costello from The Pop Up Vegetarian Restaurant, Kilkenny's majestic Castle will see Clare Ann O’Keefe host a feast of game in the basement kitchen of the medieval Castle Kitchens, talented young chefs Yannick Van-Aeken and Louise Bannon will bring their culinary delights to Mug Shot Cafe.

The 2013 food festival will also focus on healthy food and healthy eating with a Focus on Fish open day to be held over the weekend, along with numerous talks about new food trends. Other activities include Foodcamp in the Ormonde Hotel, which will be held for the first time on a Saturday (October 26th). Innovators and Foodcamp founders Keith Bohanna and Mag Kirwan will also be on hand to bring together people of all ages, interests and backgrounds to discuss and debate food-related issues.
