52FUNK will celebrate 3 years of dancing in the Kennedy's basement with 21st Century cosmic disco pioneer Rune Lindbaek on Saturday October 11th. Lindbaek first came to prominence in the mid 90s with the disco infused house productions of Those Norwegians. A contemporary of Lindstrom (with whom he has collaborated), Prins Thomas and Royskopp, his productions and remixes have appeared on a galaxy of labels from Manchester's Paper Recordings, The Idjut Boys' Noid imprint to his self run Romklang label. His latest LP, 'Klubb Kebab', released on Noid, is a collection of dancefloor destroying disco bombs, while his Lobster Disques label is a home for spaced out reworkings of funky rock and balaeric gems. He brought the house down at the last ever Downtownsounds party in Ri-Ra last April with a wildly eclectic set that ended with a lusty singalong for his dubby reversioning of Toto's 'Africa', one of the all-time DTS moments! In the newly stripped down and tastefully refurbished Kennedy's, this one could give it a run for its money. Doors open at 11.30pm and Admission is €12.
