Linda Martin will launch an arts sale in axis, Ballymun to raise funds for Dogs Aid on 12th September at 6.00pm. The exhibition, which runs until 26th September, will feature prints and paintings by established artists and aims to raise much needed funds for Dogs Aid, a local animal sanctuary. Linda Martin has been a long-time patron of Dogs Aid which is relocating to Meekstown North Dublin and in desperate need of funds to build the new animal shelter. Established artists such as Mary Fitzgerald, Patricia McKenna, Anthony Lyttle, Elke Thonnes and Cecelia Moore are participating in this event and will be donating all or part of the proceeds from the sale of their pieces to this worthy cause. Dogs Aid was set up in 1987 by 3 ladies to get unwanted and abandoned dogs a new home. It has a no destruction policy and so becomes a permanent home for many dogs. The dogs play freely in the grounds, allowing them to relax and make friends. Dogs Aid also gives sanctuary to feral cats and other animals in need, and run a vital and subsidized animal clinic in Ballymun. Dogs Aid is run entirely by volunteers and relies on donations to care for the animals.
