Portumna's Great Outdoors Festival features live music, busking competition, street entertainment, tug of war, singing pubs, kayaking, water zorbing, raft race, coarse angling two day contest, nature trails, family fun day. The opening ceremony takes place on Friday, 28 June in Portumna Castle, busking competition with €1500 worth of prizes Saturday afternoon, tug of war competition and street games on Saturday evening followed by free live music stage with Tradstone and singing pubs competition. Sunday features a Splash Day with kayaking, water zorbing, a raft race, street theatre, face painting, music, food stalls and crafts. A coarse angling contest will take place on the River Shannon on Saturday and Sunday in Portumna with thousands of euros worth of prize money. Entry fee €50 per angler.
